Damien Mackey, who previously founded Mackey distillery in 2007 (later sold in 2018), is back with Hunter Island, named after a tidal island now part of Hobart's waterfront precinct. Focusing solely on Irish-style triple distilled whisky, Damien and his wife plan to combine Tasmania's rich oily barley with single pot still production for a unique and exciting result. With the release of their first whisky in early 2023 this concept is now on display for you to experience.
